SADTEM's design office releases a brand new product: the OVS-52.
As a company in constant motion, SADTEM innovates to remain at the cutting edge of technology. To meet a new need expressed by the rail infrastructure network, we stepped out of our comfort zone to create the Sensor OVS-52.
After 2 years of research and development, SADTEM is proud to present its first capacitive voltage divider.
Why is it an innovation?
We've gone beyond the limits of our conventional magnetic transformer manufacturing business. Initially, all our transformers were essentially made of magnetic sheet, copper and cast in resin.
For this capacitive voltage divider, Sensor OVS-52, we essentially use high-voltage capacitors and then insulate them in a filler material specially developed for this application.
Finally, an electronic board converts the divider output voltage into a 4-20mA current loop.
Is this product right for you?
The Sensor is designed for outdoor voltage detection on 25kV or 27.5kV catenaries. It is therefore ideal for measuring electrical transport systems, to guarantee the supervision of your equipment.
The OVS-52 is mounted vertically, along catenary tracks or under stations. It withstands the extreme climatic conditions tested in our laboratories:
- Climate: all tropical, high humidity, highly polluted environment.
- Temperaturen: -40°C / +70°C
- Altitude: up to 1000 metres
What are the technical features of OVS 52?
The input voltage will adapt to all types of catenary voltage (from 25kV to 27.5kV) and withstands surges up to 95kV.
In addition, the output is 4-20mA.

The OVS-52 has now entered the production phase and has been 100% validated according to various tests carried out at our 4 production sites.
